Fences & Gates

Fences and gates are designed to fit the setting and the residence's architecture - sometimes painted to match house trim, sometimes left natural wood. Occasionally, clients requested black iron, aluminium, and, more recently, vinyl for low upkeep. Custom designs may also be based on replicating existing antique railings and fencing in wrought iron.

At right, a few custom designs from a variety of projects. Over a 30 year period, more and more clients requested fencing to keep deer out of the gardens. For small suburban and city gardens that usually meant enclosing the entire property. Some subdivisions do not allow fencing at the front; attaching fencing at the rear walls of a residence is often the only option.
