My professional training began with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University.  My personal European roots, extensive travel and lifelong gardening have exposed me to diverse architecture, gardens and natural landscapes. My background in site design, interior design and horticulture enables me to connect house and garden thoughtfully with the surrounding landscape. I was a registered and licensed landscape architect in New Jersey for 38 years.

My work has appeared in magazines and books, and I have presented programs to horticultural societies, garden clubs and professional garden designers. One of my garden designs is preserved in the Smithsonian Archives of American Gardens.

Currently, I am based near Asheville, North Carolina. As I continue to draw upon more than 45 years of experience involving over 300 private gardens in various States, I offer garden consultations, planting design, plant selection and residential garden planning. I no longer maintain my landscape architecture license in any state. If and when required by a project, I can collaborate with a professional licensed landscape architect.
