A landscape designed for a passionate gardener - cont.
A multilevel deck connects the guest cottage and walk from the main house to the new rock garden. Propagating cold frames and garden work space behind the cottage connect directly to the lowest level which is used for growing plants from seed and cuttings.
The entire property is surrounded by woodland and had to be fenced to keep out deer. A cattle guard across the entrance drive made a gate unnecessary. Woodland edges were planted with small flowering trees and large shrubs to not only extend gardening space but to tie the garden to the larger surrounding landscape.
